🌟 Calling All Young Performers! 🌟
Timber Lake Playhouse, renowned for its excellence in professional summer stock theatre, invites local youth to audition for featured roles in our 2025 Season! We're seeking talented young performers for Waitress, Disney’s Frozen and Beetlejuice Jr.
AUDITION DETAILS
Date: Sunday, February 2nd, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (CST) (Break: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM)
Youth performers will not be required for the entire time. After they audition, they may be asked to stay and participate in a group dance shortly after.

ROLES
Waitress
First Rehearsal: June 24, 2025
Opening: July 11, 2025
Closing: July 27, 2025
Lulu: TO PLAY 4 - 5 years old. Daughter of Jenna and Earl. A sweet, carefree child who appears in the last scene. Should be confident with some dialogue and movement. Must be shorter than 4’ 2”.
Note: Two young actors will be cast in this role, splitting the 17 performances.
Disney’s Frozen
First Rehearsal: July 15th, 2025
Opening: August 1st, 2025
Closing: August 17th, 2025
Young Elsa: TO PLAY 8 - 11. Elsa as a child. Initially playful but grows withdrawn as her powers develop and become difficult to control. Range: A3–C#5
Young Anna: TO PLAY 5 - 8. Anna as a child. Optimistic and full of love for her sister. Strong comedic timing required. Range: G3–D5
Note: Performers do not need to match the character's age exactly but must convincingly portray youthful versions of these beloved Disney characters. Two young actors will be cast in each role, splitting the 17 performances.
Beetlejuice Jr.
Rehearsals Begin: First week of June, 2025
Performances: June 26th - June 29th, 2025
Youth and high school performers will have opportunities to participate in this Junior Lakers production. More details on the character breakdown to come!
Age Range: Late Elementary to the High School Level. All performers must be 18 years old or under to participate.
Production Fee: $300 per student, with a discounted rate of $250 per student for families enrolling multiple siblings. This fee covers a comprehensive experience, including a full design team from our Resident Company and a professional Director and Choreographer from New York to lead the project. Modeled after our mainstage productions, this program provides young performers with a gateway to professional training in a fun and well-structured environment, ensuring high-quality production amenities and artistic guidance throughout.

Seeking:
Lydia Deetz: Whip-smart, grieving fifteen-year-old whose dark sense of humor helps her cope with the loss of her mother, Emily. Lydia is unfazed by Beetlejuice’s antics and easily holds her own against both him and all things Netherworld. Range: A3-E5. Seeking a Middle to High School Student for this role.
Charles Deetz: Lydia’s father, who is trying to help her move on from her mother’s passing, though his efforts often miss the mark. Balances his grief, his secret relationship with Delia, and professional pressures. Range: Bb3-F5. Seeking a High School Student for this role.
Beetlejuice: The titular zany, spooky, and hilarious “ghost with the most.” More of a trickster than a true villain, he’s ultimately looking out for himself while stirring up chaos. Range: G3-E5. Seeking a High School Student for this role.
Adam Maitland: Devoted husband of Barbara, struggling with life’s stresses even after death. Renovations, financial difficulties, and life choices haunt him, but he remains a lovable presence. Range: Bb3-Eb5. Seeking a High School Student for this role.
Barbara Maitland: Kind, adventurous, and quick-witted, Barbara’s loyalty to Adam is steadfast. She bonds quickly with Lydia and tries to navigate the afterlife’s challenges. Range: A3-D5. Seeking a High School Student for this role.
Delia Schlimmer: Hopelessly optimistic life coach with a fragile underbelly. In love with Charles and eager to connect with Lydia, even if her methods are unconventional. Range: G2-C#5. Seeking a High School Student for this role.
Maxie Dean: A business tycoon whom Charles hopes to impress. Range: C4-C5. Seeking a Middle to High School Student for this role.
Sky: A sweet Girl Scout who loves selling cookies. Range: G3-C5. Seeking an Elementary to Middle School Student for this role.
Miss Argentina: A former beauty queen who greets the recently deceased in the Netherworld. Leads “What I Know Now.” Range: A3-D5 Seeking a Middle to High School Student for this role.
Maxine Dean: Maxie Dean’s current wife, a glamorous and commanding presence. Seeking an Elementary to High School Student for this role.
Otho: Delia’s eccentric guru and occasional exorcist. Seeking an Elementary to High School Student for this role.
Juno: Beetlejuice’s no-nonsense mother who oversees the Netherworld’s intake process. She has a voice “like road tar” and no time for nonsense. Seeking an Elementary to High School Student for this role.

PREPARATION
Prepare a short musical selection that showcases your personality and vocal range. An accompanist will be provided.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes as you may be asked to stay and dance.
Bring your headshot (or a clear photo of yourself) and resume, stapled together.
VIRTUAL SUBMISSIONS
If you cannot attend in person, you may submit a video audition. Include a musical selection and a dance reel. Send all materials, including your headshot and resume, to casting@timberlakeplayhouse.org.
SIGN UPS FOR THE MASTERCLASS PROGRAM
Join our Masterclass Program, running on Mondays from May 19th through August 11th, 2025. These drop-in classes, led by TLP team members from across the country, offer specialized skill development in various aspects of theatre.
Masterclass Fee: $50 per class per student. $300 per student if you sign up for all eight classes in advance.
Classes may include themes like audition preparation, acting through song, and stage combat, as well as improvisation, dance techniques, and design for the stage. Sessions are tailored to connect with our mainstage productions, learn disco-style dance for Saturday Night Fever, master vocal health while sounding like a rockstar for Rock of Ages, or explore edible prop creations during Waitress.
