Magic Owl Auditions
Magic Owl is Timber Lake Playhouse’s Theatre for Young Audiences program, bringing vibrant, family-friendly productions to audiences of all ages. These performances are designed to captivate young minds while delighting the young at heart, with professional actors, engaging stories, and interactive experiences.
For 2025, Magic Owl presents Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, a hilarious, heartwarming musical adaptation of Mo Willems’ beloved picture book.

After each performance, the cast will participate in short meet-and-greet sessions with students in character.
Seeking:
THE PIGEON: The snappy, sassy, and demanding bird who never gets what he wants—but that doesn’t mean he’ll ever stop trying. Range: C3–G4
THE BUS DRIVER: The bus driving professional who loves her work and, eventually, The Pigeon. Prides herself on being driven and ALWAYS on time. Range: F3–D5
THE BUSINESSMAN: Doubles as: Hot Dog Vendor, Passenger (Businessman), Backup Duckling 1, and Airplane Engine. Range: D3–E4
THE DUCKLING: An adorable duckling who gets a hot dog by just asking politely. Plays several other versatile characters including: 2nd Pigeon (twin to The Pigeon), The Bus Engine, The Bus, Bus Driver's Mom, and Puppy. Range: D4–C5
THE CITY WORKER: A grumpy worker just doing his job putting up signs around town. Doubles as: Passenger (Teenager), and Backup Duckling 2.Range: D3–C5
THE LITTLE OLD LADY: Doubles as: Passenger (Little Old Lady) and Backup Duckling 3. Range: C4–D5
NOTES:
All roles involve multi-character doubling, and performers of all identities, ethnicities, and abilities are encouraged to apply.
