Position Summary:

Timber Lake Playhouse, Illinois’ leading summer theatre, is seeking a self-starting and enthusiastic Development and Outreach Coordinator to support sponsorships, fundraising efforts, and community engagement. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills, a passion for the arts, and a keen ability to foster relationships with donors, businesses, and community members to advance TLP’s financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Development & Donor Relations

  • Assist in securing sponsorships and advertising sales for TLP’s playbills, website, and promotional materials.

  • Cultivate relationships with businesses, donors, and sponsors to encourage financial support.

  • Maintain accurate donor records and provide timely communication and acknowledgments.

  • Assist in planning and executing donor appreciation events and fundraising initiatives.

  • Work closely with the Development Committee to implement donor cultivation strategies.

Community & Business Outreach

  • Act as a liaison between TLP and local businesses to foster partnerships and sponsorship opportunities.

  • Represent TLP at community events, networking opportunities, and meetings.

  • Develop and implement outreach initiatives to expand audience engagement and community involvement.

  • Assist in managing group sales efforts and partnerships with educational institutions, corporate sponsors, and community organizations.

Event & Marketing Support

  • Coordinate logistics for fundraising and community events.

  • Assist in creating marketing materials and promotional content for development initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging for donor and sponsorship campaigns.

  • Support social media and email marketing efforts related to donor outreach and sponsorship promotions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Ability to build relationships and engage with donors, sponsors, and community members.

  • Experience in fundraising, development, or community engagement preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and donor management tools.

  • Knowledge of theatre operations or prior experience in an arts-related role is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a self-starter attitude.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

  • Seasonal position (March 1st – August 11th) with potential for additional off-season work.

  • 20 hours/week with evening and weekend availability required, particularly during the production season.

  • Compensation: $300/wk.
